The origin

What lives
beneath the name.

Every round is a race—against the course, the competition and the player you were yesterday. DERBY began with golfers who understood that winning is not simply about starting fastest. It is about managing pace, protecting position and staying ready for the moment that changes everything.

The name carries the energy of race day: a full field, shifting momentum and a finish that cannot be claimed early. Some players spend every hole trying to lead. DERBY learns the course, keeps the target within reach and refuses to waste its best move before the moment arrives.

That approach requires patience without passivity. A DERBY player can absorb an early loss, reset after a poor swing and keep applying pressure while the match develops. Every hole is part of the pursuit, but no single hole is allowed to define the finish.

Within Sweetgrass, DERBY became the Haus of pace and timing. Its members know where they stand, recognize when the race has turned and commit when it is time to go. The final putt—not the opening noise—decides who finished.

What Derby carries

“Stay in the running. Recognize the moment. Make your move.”

Life inside Derby

A culture you
can recognize.

Pace. Timing. Finish.

DERBY culture is alert, energetic and composed. Members pay attention to the movement of a match: who has momentum, where the pressure sits and which decision can change the next three holes. They do not confuse patience with fear or speed with control.

The Haus values golfers who can stay present while the board shifts around them. A strong start earns nothing by itself. A difficult start removes nobody from the race. DERBY keeps competing, keeps calculating and keeps the finish within reach.

Partners communicate in clear terms: hold position, apply pressure or make the move. That shared language turns two golfers into one pursuit. When the decisive moment arrives, hesitation ends and commitment takes over.

The colors

Every color
carries weight.

The palette is more than a uniform. It is a visible statement of what the Haus expects its members to carry.

01

Racing Red

Momentum, urgency and the courage to make the move when the opening appears.

02

Midnight Navy

Control, awareness and the composure to manage the entire race instead of chasing one moment.

03

Finish White

Clarity at the line—the result that remains after every position, pressure swing and final putt.

Traditions in the making

What members
will pass down.

01

The Starting Line

Before the season’s first official match, members name the pace, habit or standard they intend to carry through the entire pursuit.

02

Make Your Move

DERBY recognizes the turning point of each block—the decision, shot or partnership moment that changed the direction of a match.

03

The Final Flag

At season’s end, members honor the player who stayed in the running, finished with purpose and made DERBY stronger across the full distance.

Why Derby

The invitation

The race is still open.

Choose DERBY if you understand that a round has rhythm. This Haus is for the golfer who can stay patient without going quiet, compete without panicking and recognize when the match is asking for a decisive move.

You do not have to lead from the first tee. You do have to remain engaged, protect your position and keep your partner connected to the pursuit. DERBY wants competitors who become more focused as the finish gets closer.

Every player has a different pace and every match creates a different route. Bring yours. Stay in the running, trust your timing and commit when your moment arrives.

Stay in the running. Make your move. Run your race.
